History-making ship's replica has landed in region

THE replica of the first ship to circumnavigate the globe has arrived in Blyth as it begins a three-week visit to the North East.
The Nao Victoria was the first to sail around the world between 1519 and 1522, captained by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano. Its replica is currently on a tour of UK ports, and visitors can explore the vessel at Dun Cow Quay in Blyth until tomorrow. The Nao Victoria will then sail to Newcastle City Marina and dock on the Quayside from July 15-27.
