Gym operator reports 10% membership rise

NORTHUMBERLAND gyms operated by Places Leisure have seen an almost 10% increase in memberships since last year.

The growth comes following recent investments in refurbishment across several facilities.

Northumberland councillors were presented with an annual summary of gyms throughout the area, following Places Leisure’s successful bid for a 10-year contract back in April 2024.

According to figures from the social enterprise, there has been a 9.8% growth in membership from quarter one to quarter four - a jump from 31,680 to 34,782.
