Five teens charged after spate of burglaries

FIVE teenagers have been charged with a series of burglaries in Newcastle.

A large-scale investigation was launched by Northumbria Police officers after a rise in residential break-ins over the past month.

The crackdown comes after the alleged offenders had been attempting to access homes and vehicles overnight, with Gosforth and Hazlerigg specifically targeted. In a handful of the reports made, those involved were also able to take keys from inside the properties and steal cars parked outside.
