Finding consistency is key for Heed, says boss

GATESHEAD manager Alun Armstrong has urged his players to find some consistency as they prepare to visit Woking today.

The Heed have endured a frustrating start to the new season with positive results against the likes of Yeovil Town, Eastleigh and Tamworth hampered by poor performances against Southend United and Rochdale.

A further low arrived on Wednesday night when Armstrong’s men failed to make any impact on Altrincham as the Robins claimed a surprisingly routine 2-0 win at the International Stadium by punishing the Heed for a lacklustre display.

Armstrong admitted he is finding it difficult to understand why his players are producing such contrasting performances on a weekly basis but stressed he will continue to work hard on the training pitch to find an improvement.
