EXPANSION plans at a veterinary hospital, which could create dozens of jobs, have been given the go-ahead.

Bridge Referrals submitted an application to expand into an adjacent industrial warehouse at Brooklands Way in Boldon Colliery.

According to a design and access statement submitted to council officials, the building is proposed to be used as a “24/7 veterinary practice” and would involve a 1,055sqm expansion to the existing practice.

The existing practice and new building would be linked via a glazed corridor under the plans.
