DRIVERS using a busy North East junction could be hit with a £70 fine if they fail to follow traffic restrictions.

Newcastle City Council will begin camera enforcement of the yellow box restriction at the junction of Christon Road and Great North Road on Wednesday.
The action is being taken after the council successfully applied to Government for new moving traffic enforcement powers and following public consultation. The majority of those who responded supported the enforcement proposals.
