Newcastle City Council has shut the pedestrian bridge into Jesmond Dene from the rear of Dene Terrace.

‘The move comes just weeks after similar worries led to the closure of the Cherry Tree Walk bridge in the Dene. Civic centre officials said on Wednesday that they hoped to “resolve the situation as swiftly and safely as possible”, but could not say when either footbridge would be able to reopen.
