Senuka Dangamuwa with a half century and skipper Kaveen Rukshan with a score of 49 runs helped Mahinda reach 217 for nine wickets at close against arch rivals Richmond on day one of the Lovers' Quarrel Big Match at Galle International Stadium on Thursday.

Mahinda were four wickets down for 100 runs when Dangamuwa joined skipper Rukshan to put on a healthy partnership worth 89 runs for the fifth wicket.
