Brother-in-law of 'Backhoe Saman' remanded for 7 days

The Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court yesterday granted permission to the Western Province North Crime Division to detain and question the brother-in-law of underworld figure Nedungoda Nirmala Prasanna, alias ‘Backhoe Saman’, for seven days.
Police said the 27-year-old suspect, a resident of Welipitiya, Middeniya, had been arrested following information provided by Backhoe Saman, who was earlier taken into custo
