Shock holiday snap leads Lynsey to three-stone loss and new Slimming World consultant role
An Ayrshire mum who once nervously stepped through the doors of a slimming group in Irvine is now preparing to lead one herself, after a personal journey that saw her regain her health, confidence and zest for life.
Lynsey Ross lost almost three stone with Slimming World, and maintained her weight loss.
Now she is excited to help others do the same.
Having first joined Slimming World in Irvine in 2014, the new consultant admits she was initially filled with doubt.
"I'd never been to a slimming class before and I was incredibly nervous," she said.
"My confidence was low due to some health problems that had led to weight gain. It was my Mum who encouraged me to go along with her"
What followed was a turning point. Embracing Slimming World's Food Optimising plan, she discovered a love of cooking, meal planning and experimenting with new recipes.
Supported by fellow members, she went on to lose three stone.
However, life brought new challenges. After falling pregnant with her son, Charlie, she stepped away from the group and later developed pre-eclampsia and other health concerns.
She embraced the plan again, this time at another group in Kilmarnock.
The arrival of her second child during the Covid pandemic meant her weight fluctuated again.
