Festive fun for all the family

- By MEGAN SHAW

YORKSHIRE is home to some of the best family festive light trails around, including Stockeld Park’s Winter Illuminations, famous for its large and creative trail.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s Winter Illuminations feature a 3km path dotted with lantern displays.

Or if you fancy something a little more low-key, there are other options such as RHS Garden Harlow Carr's Glow, which offers a more tranquil experience with light installations in the gardens.

Below we have listed our favourite light trails worth checking out this festive season:

Stockeld Park

When: 22 Nov - 5 Jan

Where: Stockeld Park, Wetherby Road, Wetherby, North Yorkshire, LS22 4AN

One of the largest Christmas light trails in the country, set in the grounds of a historic estate.

Watch the beautiful Enchanted Forest come to life with illuminated installations, projections and sculptures, complete with animations and soundscapes.

It includes adventure play areas and other family activities such as ice-skating and the iconic illuminated snowflake maze.

Warm up chilly hands along the way by stopping at one of the cabins for a hot drink.

Great for families looking for a wide variety of activities beyond just the light trail - fun-filled action packed day.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

When: 27 Nov - 10 Dec

Where: Hurst Lane, Branton, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN9 3QY.
