CRIMINAL WHO SUBJECTED SHOP STAFF TO TERRIFYING ORDEAL DIED FROM OVERDOSE DAYS AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON, REPORT SAYS

AN ARMED robber who strapped petrol station staff to a chair and threatened them with a knife was found dead shortly after being released from jail.

Scott Howley carried out the early-hours attack on the shop at the petrol station in February 2021 before fleeing with stock worth thousands of pounds.

He was given a five-year jail sentence at Bradford Crown Court in February 2022 after being found guilty of armed robbery at the Esso petrol station on Tong Street, Bradford.

He was released from HMP Wealstun, near Wetherby, in February 2024.
