Yes, Tamar crossings should all be toll-free

FOLLOWING on from your front page article on August 8th, I totally support the campaign to make all crossings across the River Tamar toll-free.

The major problem is the Act of Parliament that was passed enabling the construction of the Tamar Bridge in 1960. The Act effectively marries the Torpoint Ferries with the Bridge.

The economic effect with the recent increase in tolls has exacerbated the situation in both Plymouth and South East Cornwall.
