As England and Wales gear up for their opening games at UEFA Women's Euro 2025, LYNN RUSK has everything you need to know about the tournament

England and Wales play their opening group games today, with the Dragons taking on the Netherlands at 5pm and the Lionesses up against France at 8pm.

On Wednesday, England face the Netherlands at 5pm, while Wales will play France at 8pm.

England and Wales will then play each other at 8pm on Sunday, July 13 in their final group game.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals. The winners of those games will then advance to the semifinals, with the tournament culminating in the championship final at St. Jakob-Park in Basel on July 27.

In the 2025 Women’s Euros, among the 15 teams joining England are fellow home nation Wales, who are taking part in their first major tournament. The two teams are even in the same group.

Former England midfielder and Sunderland native Jill Scott, who retired from the sport in 2022 before going on to be crowned Queen of the Jungle in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! later that year, will join some of her fellow Euros-winning Lionesses as pundits for the BBC, with ITV's coverage boasting a similarly stellar lineup.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of the BBC team for the Euros,” says Jill, 38, who earned 161 caps for the England team. “Tournaments like this are what football’s all about; the passion, the drama, the unforgettable moments.
