FORMER PDC professional, Jeff Smith, was in the city for one weekend only, joining a host of stars, including Johnny Clayton, Michael Smith, and Ryan Searle, playing in the Devon Darts Showdown at Plymouth Pavilions.

- By JAMES COOK Darts correspondent

Smith found himself in the Duchy on the Friday before and took it upon himself to compete in the Plymouth City Super League Division B for the Duchy A in their 10-1 win against Hyde Park

Smith (33.40) blitzed his individual game thanks to legs in 17, 15, and 13 darts and ended his night with a maximum that sat nicely in a 12-ton haul.

Smith was slightly upstaged by teammate Martin Dean in the doubles as Dean put up a 136 checkout during a doubles win that also saw a 15 dart 601 leg.

That Dean effort meant teammate Jordan Heath's 119 three-dart combination outshot had to settle for second best of the overall contest.

Raffles A continued their march to the league title with a 10-1 win against Herbert A, which saw Simon Wilbraham end his night on 12 three-figure visits.

Logan Carroll played his supporting role very well with ten ton-plus-ses, whilst Adam Truscott was the only 180 hitter. Wilbraham contributed to four excellent checkouts with 74 and 90 combinations, whilst Truscott’s 81 settled for third best to a 96 from Adam Fell.

Wilbraham’s 17-darter proved crucial in a 3-2 win, which was only bettered by a leg in 14 darts from Truscott that came during a 3-0 victory.
