The Herald
|April 14, 2025
SEVEN people including a woman from Plymouth - appeared before magistrates on Saturday morning in connection with an alleged acid attack on a man in Lipson Road.
Devon and Cornwall Police officers, with the Metropolitan Police, arrested six men, all in their 20s, at addresses in central London on Thursday. A woman in her 30s was also arrested in Plymouth on Thursday.
Prosecutor Ria Park summarised the Crown's case against the seven, reminding the magistrates that in the early hours of the morning on Friday, February 21, police officers were called to Lipson Road to reports of a serious assault. Police have said the victim remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Ms Park described the events leading up to the alleged attack and how the seven charged were involved. She told the court that on the day of alleged assault, the victim had been at home with his daughter. She said two men broke in and threw acid at him, "causing significant, life-changing injuries".
