THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SHOP ALSO ENTERS ADMINISTRATION

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

A RETAIL chain with an outlet in Plymouth’s Drakes Circus has collapsed into administration.

Claire’s describes itself as a “global brand powerhouse for self-expression creating exclusive curated and fun looks” but actually sells jewellery, hair, cosmetics, and fashion accessories.

Claire's, which also has outlets in Exeter and Truro, also calls itself the world’s leading piercing specialist, having pierced more than 100 million ears worldwide.

But, along with The Original Factory Shop (TOFS), which has a presence inside the Coop at Plympton’s Ridgeway, as well as an outlet in Saltash, Claire's has been put into administration.

The owner of the two bands said “last-ditch” measures had fallen through, putting about 2,500 UK staff at risk of redundancy.
