Hundreds of bikers on 'last ride for Mad Dog'

Several hundred riders followed the funeral cortege, which saw David Crawford's body taken to his final resting place in a specially-modified three-wheel motor-trike hearse. The procession was followed by a single police motorbike rider to ensure the safety of all road users.

The bikers, many of them members of affiliated motorcycle clubs, are understood to have come from across Devon and beyond to attend the funeral of 59-year-old David Crawford, from Ivybridge. In a funeral notice placed into the Plymouth Herald, Mr Crawford's family invited those who knew him to his funeral at Weston Mill on June 16.

A wake was held for the dad-of-two and grandad-of-one, affectionately known as Mad Dog, at Ivybridge Rugby Club. His family also asked that donations were made to St Luke's Hospice.
