FanParks among the venues to watch final
The Herald
|July 13, 2024
PLYMOUTH is set to be packed with England fans hoping to see the Three Lions bring it home tomorrow evening - with many pubs and clubs already booked up.
One of those is Eighteen87 - the former Morley Arms in Plymstock. Since the Euros 2024 tournament began, the pub has been showing games as part of FanParks brand new venue.
FanParks - set up by three Plymouth locals to create a unique viewing experience for fans - teamed up with the popular pub to show all 51 matches on a giant 5x5-metre screen.
And now the final is upon us and England have made it all the way to the end - and of course people are buzzing, including Eighteen87 owner Jordan Turfrey.
Mr Turfrey said: “The atmosphere has been amazing. When England score the whole crowd goes wild. We are super proud of how well the boys have done. All of our customers have been amazing and our staff have all worked super hard.
“FanParks has made it amazing to watch the football. Hopefully we will see them win the final.”
Mr Turfrey said the biggest crowd they have had so far is 350 and the final is already sold out. The event is family friendly, with face painters and penalty shootouts to keep the little ones entertained.
There is also a large marquee set up if fans need to shelter from the rain, where they can enjoy the matches across five additional flatscreen TVs.
