Cleverley sets his players two targets for this campaign
The Herald
|December 02, 2025
TOM Cleverley has outlined his two big targets for Plymouth Arayle for the rest of this season, which are a mid-table finish in League One and ‘areally strong run’ in the Vertu Trophy, writes Chris Errington.
The Pilgrims are 23rd in their division, a couple of points above bottom-of-the-table Port Vale, after losing 3-0 to Northampton Town at Home Park on Saturday.
Argyle’s nine-goal top scorer Lorent Tolaj was sent-off during the second half but his automatic three-match suspension only applies to the league so he is eligible to play in the Vertu Trophy round of 32 tie away to Leyton Orient this evening (7pm).
The match in east London is also likely to see defender Julio Pleguezuelo make his first appearance of the season for the Pilgrims after a knee operation in the summer,
Pleguezuelo was out on the pitch at Home Park before the game against Northampton as he did a warm-up with Connor Derbidge, Argyle’s head of sports science.
