BBM emerges as Argyle contender

THE name of Brian Barry-Murphy is suddenly on the lips of the Green Army after his appearance at the top of the betting market for Plymouth Argyle's head coach vacancy.
The 46-year-old has been working since December as first team coach at Leicester City under Ruud van Nistelrooy, after previously being in charge of Manchester City's Elite Development Squad (under-21s).
The quartet of Des Buckingham, Tom Cleverley, Stephen Robinson and Jack Wilshere have been the bookies' favourites to succeed Miron Muslic at Argyle, but there was a significant change on Sunday when the name of Barry-Murphy popped up.
By 9.30am today he was top of the betting market at 1/2, with former League One promotion-winning Oxford United boss Buckingham at 9/4. They were followed by Cleverley at 5/1 and Wilshere at 12/1 while St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson had drifted out to 14/1.
