Albion look to continue their impressive start

AS the campaign approaches its midpoint, both Rams and Plymouth Albion sit solidly in the top half of the National League 1 table.

- By PABLO CHEEKS

Rams have played nine matches, winning six and losing three, accumulating 30 points. Plymouth Albion likewise have six wins from nine, yielding 32 points, albeit with a far superior points difference (Albion +154 vs Rams +58). In short, this is shaping up to be a genuine “six-pointer” between two sides firmly in promotion contention.

Form Guide and recent results show that the Rams have won just one of their last three league outings, losing their last two. Their defence has leaked tries, and while their attack still managed 29 points in the most recent loss, Rams have struggled to be consistent.

Plymouth Albion have also won just one game in their last three outings. A convincing home win over Birmingham Mosley was bookended by two losses away from home to Tonbridge and last weekend's loss to Blackheath. Albion's recent form is somewhat mixed, a big home win followed by their away defeat to Blackheath suggests there may be some fragility on the road.
