Spain deploys troops to contain outbreak of African swine fever

Police, wildlife rangers and military personnel have been deployed to contain an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) before it becomes a major threat to Spain's pork export industry.

Officials believe the highly contagious virus, detected in Bellaterra outside Barcelona, may be circulating after a wild boar ate contaminated food from outside Spain.
