Scientists to build system to spot rogue AI behaviour

An artificial intelligence pioneer has launched a non-profit organisation to spot rogue computer systems trying to trick humans.
Yoshua Bengio, who is seen as one of the "godfathers" of AI, will preside over LawZero, which has start-up funding of £22m and more than a dozen researchers.
He aims to develop Scientist AI, a system to detect other AI agents that show deceptive or self-preserving behaviour, such as trying to avoid being turned off.
Describing AI agents as "actors" seeking to imitate and please users, Bengio said that Scientist AI would instead act like a "psychologist" in understanding and predicting rogue behaviour.
