Man 'known to synagogue attacker' is charged with terror offences

A man has been charged with assisting the Manchester synagogue attacker Jihad al-Shamie by carrying out earlier reconnaissance on a UK defence facility.

Mohammad Bashir, 31, has been charged with four terrorism offences, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

Bashir, of Cheetham Hill, was arrested at Manchester airport on 27 November and was charged with one count of preparation for acts of terror and three counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.
