YET, BEYOND THE INSTITUTIONAL PREPARATION, THE DEFINING FEATURE OF AMARNATH 2025 HAS BEEN ITS SPIRIT OF COMMUNAL HARMONY.

Amarnath Yatra 2025

Scheduled from 3 July to 9 August 2025, this year's pilgrimage is marked by unprecedented registrations, enhanced security, and a heartwarming display of community solidarity that has resonated across the nation under the hashtag #ValleyWelcomesYatris.

According to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, more than 331,000 pilgrims have registered for this year's Yatra by early June—an impressive figure that reflects enduring devotion despite recent regional unrest. Historically, this annual journey attracts between 300,000 and over 600,000 pilgrims, traversing rugged terrain and demanding resilience against harsh mountain weather. The pilgrimage follows two primary routes: the longer and scenic 48 kilometre trek from Pahalgam through Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panchtarni; and the shorter but steep 14 kilometre climb from Baltal. Both paths pose significant physical challenges, and every pilgrim must possess an official health certificate issued from early April onward.
