Veterans hub named after former soldier

A SPECIALIST hub to support armed forces veterans on their journeys to recovery will open on Teesside next month.

The unit in Boosbeck, Morgan House, has been named in honour of former Guisborough soldier Sam Morgan, who tragically took his own life in December last year whilst suffering from PTSD.

An ex-Royal Marine commando, the dad-of-three had completed three tours of duty in Afghanistan, but faced significant challenges when he left the forces. His family say he struggled to find the essential support he needed. Now, not for profit veteran support organisation Healthier Heroes CIC has announced it will open its doors to welcome the first veteran residents to Morgan House next month.

The house will be a vital new service dedicated to supporting veterans and those transitioning from the military who are in need of housing and additional support.

A spokesperson for the organisation said: "This project will be a lifeline for veterans who require that extra bit of personalised help, providing safe accommodation, structured recovery pathways, and opportunities for personal growth.
