Tactical change paid off until 'cruel' finale

LEICESTER City boss Marti Cifuentes described it as “very cruel” as his side lost two points with almost the last kick of the ball when Luke Ayling rescued a point for Middlesbrough.

In an attacking performance similar to that at Watford, Boro were struggling to make possessional and territorial advantages count for meaningful chances on goal.

And that looked like it would cost them once more, when Jordan Ayew slotted home his penalty in first half stoppage time.

But, not for the first time this season, Boro’s never-say-die attitude paid off in the end even after Alfie Jones had been shown a straight red card.

Ayling rose well in the 96th minute to head home Boro's equaliser. Cifuentes, whose side are now without a win in five games, was understandably frustrated.

"I want to praise the players," Cifuentes said. "I want to praise the commitment. But, of course, I am very frustrated.
