Stephen's sky-high fundraiser

A COUNCILLOR is gearing up for a charity skydive to raise funds for mental health support services.

Cllr Stephen Martin, who represents Eston ward on Redcar and Cleveland Council, is undertaking a tandem jump from 10,000 feet today.

Cllr Martin, a pub landlord who runs The Wellington in Eston, is raising funds for Teesside Mind and has already beaten his target of £500.

The Conservative councillor said he had been prompted by a customer who asked if he was interested in taking part in such an event.
