Skipper's tribute to Parr after Bears win

SKIPPER Charles Wright praised the work of team manager Gavin Parr after the Agilia Bears completed their scheduled league programme with a comfortable victory over Workington Comets.

Parr has spent countless hours during the second half of the season searching for the best eligible guests to fill-in for the absence of Eric Riss, since the classy former German champion was forced out of racing due to a rare brain disorder which reoccurred at the end of June.

Rarely has the Bears' boss's diligence been so apparent than in the defeat of the Comets which consolidated a joint best ever third place in the final Championship table.

Both North Yorkshire-based Scunthorpe star Jake Allen and Berwick's Sam Hagon, deputising for European Under-19 Pairs contender Jody Scott, were superb in a side where every member managed at least one race win
