Selles out, say fed-up Blades fans

RUBEN Selles conceded his Sheffield United side came up against a very good team in Middlesbrough, but felt they were competitive as pressure grows on the Blades manager.

Taking over from former Boro boss Chris Wilder after Sheffield United lost last season's playoff final, Selles has had a disastrous start to life in the Bramall Lane hotseat. Boro’s 1-0 win at the Riverside was a fourth straight defeat for the former Reading and Hull City boss.

The victory came thanks to Tommy Conway's second half strike, in a game Boro largely dominated. Despite that, Sheffield United were almost gifted a goal when Boro were caught playing the ball out of defence at the end of the first half, while they missed one major late chance when Sam McCallum fired over from close range.
