New rules scupper Bears' plan

REDCAR’S plans to topple Championship front runners Glasgow have been wrecked by the rule book and bad timing.

The Agilia Bears play host to the second in the table Tigers at the ECCO Arena tonight but manager Gavin Parr's early moves to replace absent Erik Riss and Jake Mulford have been scuppered.

Former Bears favourite Lewis Kerr and Tobias Thomsen, who both impressed with club side Poole at the Teesside track last week, were lined up as ‘guests’ but Kerr has pulled out due to family commitments and, with the new averages for August coming into force, the 31-year-old Dane misses out by a fraction of a point.
