Move gives Scott a shot at success

NORTHALLERTON’S Scott Lincoln is feeling in the shape of his life ahead of the World Athletics Championships after a winter move to Australia.

The 32-year-old _ shot-putter moved to Melbourne after a conversation with new coach Dale Stevenson and lives Down Under while it's winter back in the UK.

The two-time Olympian is hoping that by moving halfway around the world, he can kickstart his bid to reach major athletics finals over the next three years, culminating with the Olympics in 2028.

“Moving to Australia and getting a new coach, that was a big change to start with,’ said Lincoln, when asked how his preparation had changed ahead of the flagship event in Tokyo.

“I've settled pretty quickly and having a group around me is also a big change. My training has changed quite a lot as it has become more specific to me, which is exciting.
