Man drove straight at his girlfriend's ex

A CHEMICAL process operator drove straight at his then-girlfriend’s former partner during a row.

Jack Weighill’s victim pushed his child out of the way before Weighill’s car hit him and he was thrown onto the bonnet of the car, the court heard.

The 35-year-old defendant lost his temper after becoming embroiled in a row between his then-girlfriend and her former partner, on November 1, 2023.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the victim and his daughter were waiting at a bus stop on Ullswater Drive, in Skelton, near Saltburn, for the child’s mother to pick her up.

Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, told the court: “The vehicle screeched to a halt next to the victim and his child.”
