Images project 'new chapter' for rail station

NEW computer-generated images have been released of Redcar Central Station, with conservation work on the building set to be complete at the end of the year.

Redcar and Cleveland Council has issued four new images “showcasing its vision” for the railway station. Conservation work to transform the station is ongoing, having started in May last year.

The council previously outlined how the building will function as both a leisure and retail hub, as well as a key transport link. It will provide rail facilities including ticket machines, travel information and covered waiting areas, plus food and drink outlets throughout the day and evening.
