Family left shaken after car thief came into their home

A STOCKTON family say they were distraught when they woke up to find a burglar had been inside their home as their toddler slept upstairs.

Shannon Ayre and Connor Duncan, 29 awoke on Monday morning to find his car had been stolen from outside their Stockton home. In the early hour, as the family slept, a man is believed to have been trying doors in the Maritime Road area of Stockton. A suspect is believed to have accessed Shannon's keyless car, ransacked the vehicle and found a spare house key in the central compartment

He has then gained entry into their home, found Connor's car keys and made off in his Vauxhall Corsa.
