Dutch dash for Tigers contingent

IMMEDIATELY after Redcar's final bid for team silverware this season gets under way against Poole this evening, a small entourage representing Middlesbrough Tigers will head for Holland to race a special challenge at Lelystad.

Manager Brian Turner has hastily answered a request by the Dutch club to provide opposition for local racers bidding to put the venue, around 30km north east of Amsterdam, firmly back on the speedway map.

The Redcar-based electrician, who doubles up wielding the spanners for Redcar Bears star Jason Edwards on Championship race-nights, will swap his overalls for a jacket and clipboard then lead his Tigers ‘select’, featuring three of his National Development League team, in a dash down the motorway for the port of Dover and beyond.
