Durham boost bowling ranks with SA quickie
The Gazette
|April 25, 2025
DURHAM Cricket have signed South African fast bowler Codi Yusuf for the Rothesay County Championship.
-
The signing of Yusuf comes on the back of a recent spate of injuries to bowlers within the Durham bowling attack, therefore the club have acted quickly to bolster the bowling department.
They have also signed Jack Blatherwick and Jake Ball on loan. The Lancashire and Somerset seamers join Durham immediately and will be available for selection ahead of today’s Rothesay County Championship fixture against Worcestershire.
The right-arm quick bowlers will be available for 14 days, starting against Worcestershire today and next week’s clash against Hampshire at Utlita Bowl.
Brydon Carse, Sam Conners, Paul Coughlin, Daniel Hogg, Luke Robinson, Stanley McAlindon, James Minto are all not available for selection.
With David Bedingham suffering a knock on the toe against Warwickshire resulting in a fracture, Yusuf will take on the second overseas role alongside Australian Brendan Doggett.
