Couple’s mission helps to provide 10,000 free meals for the community

Krista and Niki Coulson say they have turned their personal struggles into a powerful mission to uplift the South Bank community by launching The Open Well.

And as part of this, they have told how they've provided the thousands of free meals to those in need.

Along with meals, they are offering sewing courses designed to equip community members with valuable skills while bringing people together.

Krista, 43, said: “Our initiative began in March 2022 as we recognized the need for practical support and community connection in South Bank, a place both of us called home.”

Having each faced their own challenges - including 53-year-old Niki’s difficult early life, which involved struggles with drugs and incarceration - the couple say they experienced significant transformation after embracing faith.

Krista’s recovery started in 2013, followed by Niki’s in 2015.
