GAIZKA Mendieta is hoping Middlesbrough’s good start under Rob Edwards is a positive sign for their promotion aspects, and believes the club made the right decision on Michael Carrick this summer - all the while tipping the former boss to end up managing in the Premier League.
Boro parted company with Carrick this summer after two-and-a-half years in charge ended without a Premier League return being delivered.
Replaced by Edwards, Boro enjoyed their best start to a league campaign when going unbeaten in eight games, but lost that record and their top spot last time out before the international break at Portsmouth.
