Two elderly Korean tourists died after they drowned while snorkeling off Pamilacan Island in Bohol last Wednesday.

Kwon Sung II, 77, and Choi Duk Sun, 73, both residents of Seoul, South Korea, were part of a group of 17 Korean tourists who went to Pamilacan, an island barangay accessible from Panglao.

Some details aren’t clear yet, but according to other reports, the two were advised against going snorkeling but still did so anyway and up drowning.

“Wa g’yud to tugoti nga mo-ambak pero mi-dive g’yud kauban mga boatmen sa Panglao," said Baclayon Mayor Alvin Uy, who added that the group didn’t even bother to pay the local government fee to enter Pamilacan Island.
