Still a matter of faith

Every year in January Cebu City and Cebu Province celebrate the Sinulog events.

It's worth reminding people that while the occasion is more popularly known and packaged as the "Sinulog", it's actually two occasions in one; the Fiesta Señor activities which are done to fulfill religious duties and the actual Sinulog events which are done for the enjoyment of the masses.

Obviously, the Fiesta Señor activities include the Eucharistic celebrations, the Traslacion, the fluvial parade, the solemn processions, and the like. On the other hand, the Sinulog activities include the various musical, art, and photography contests, the concerts, the grand parade and ritual showdown competitions, among others.
