SSS rolls out mobile services to remote Cebu communities

The Philippine Social Security System (SSS) is ramping up its service delivery to remote communities, deploying its mobile “E-Wheels” program to Bantayan Island in northern Cebu in a bid to close access gaps for residents far from traditional branch offices.

Over a two-day operation, the SSS Bogo branch facilitated 915 transactions across the island’s three municipalities—Sta. Fe, Bantayan, and Madridejos—marking another stop in the agency’s push to digitize and decentralize public service.

While the mainland Bogo City remains the nearest brick-and-mortar SSS branch, it is located approximately 50 kilometers from Bantayan Island, making physical access to government services a logistical challenge for many locals.
