PhilHealth rolls out outpatient emergency care benefit package

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has announced that all members and their legal dependents may now avail of the Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit (OECB) Package at any PhilHealth-accredited Level 1 to Level 3 hospital.
PhilHealth also clarified that no additional accreditation is required for hospitals to offer the OECB Package.
"This is because the capacity of hospitals for this benefit is already included when [they] were granted PhilHealth accreditation," PhilHealth said in its advisory.
In addition, PhilHealth is reminding members that patients admitted to hospital emergency departments starting February 14, 2025, who were unable to avail of the OECB Package at the time of care may still file a claim, in accordance with PhilHealth policies.
