Patients in province hospitals to get better meals

Patients admitted to four provincial and 12 district hospitals in Cebu Province will now have improved daily meals as the administration of Governor Pamela Baricuatro has doubled the meal allowance, raising it from P50 to P100 per meal.

Dr. Nikki Catalan, the Capitol’s Public Health Consultant, announced the adjustment, stressing that the previous allotment of P150 per patient per day had remained unchanged since 2019.

“Now they're given P100 per meal per day that's P300 na sa three meals per day,” said Catalan.

The move aligns with the Department of Health’s (DOH) mandate requiring hospitals to provide inpatients with at least 1,800 calories daily.
