Pam's son-in-law sues Byron Garcia
The Freeman
|December 12, 2025
"These false imputations made by Mr. Garcia were made with no good intention or justifiable motive except to discredit my good name and reputation as a doctor," part of Vizcayno's 23-page affidavit-complaint read.
-
Vizcayno's legal team described the allegations as fabricated, baseless, and wholly unsupported by fact.
Lawyer Joshua Monsanto, counsel for Vizcayno, emphasized that the case underscores a fundamental principle: the professional reputation of private individuals cannot be used as a target for reckless commentary, online theatrics, or politically motivated attacks.
"False statements and fake news are not protected speech. They undermine public trust, degrade civil discourse, and have no place in a society that values truth and responsibility. They deserve nothing less than firm accountability under the law," Monsanto said in a statement.
According to the complaint-affidavit, the posts and videos, published on 11 July 2025, from Byron Garcia's verified Facebook account falsely accused Dr. Vizcayno of compelling patients at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center to buy medical supplies from a specific supplier at inflated prices in exchange for a commission.
Vizcayno clarified that he is not affiliated with Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and that his orthopedic practice is conducted in Chong Hua Medical Center and University of Cebu Medical Center.
He also denied any connection to Surgtech Medical Supplies, Inc., the supplier allegedly mentioned in the posts.
