Mayor Suan eyes to complete town's community hospital

After years of delay, Cordova Mayor Cesar Suan pushes to finally complete the long-anticipated establishment of a community hospital in town.

Suan expressed optimism that the project will now gain traction under the administration of Governor Pamela Baricuatro, who, he said, strongly supported Cordova’s healthcare needs.

“Since ang priority ni Governor Pam is health, niana siya sa amoa na she will help,” Suan told the media yesterday (August 4), during the 456th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Province of Cebu.

He said the governor committed to visiting the hospital site and consulting with public health consultant, Dr. Nicole Elisse Catalan, to check on the rehabilitation and potential conversion of the facility into an operational infirmary.

The Cordova Community Hospital building has stood idly uncompleted for years. Although construction began years ago, it lacked the right-of-way, making access difficult.

It also remained unequipped and understaffed, failing to serve even the most basic medical needs of Cordova’s constituents.
