Mandaue cracks down on trucking firms causing muddy public roads
The Freeman
|September 15, 2025
The Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) met with representatives of 23 trucking companies believed to be responsible for the dirt along the access road from U.N. Avenue leading to the Cansaga Bridge.
-
During the meeting on Saturday, September 13, the companies agreed to place limestone within their premises to prevent mud from sticking to their trucks, which has been identified as the main cause of the road’s poor condition.
This came after TEAM personnel caught at least two trucks last week polluting the access road, leaving mud from the Cansaga Bridge to U.N. Avenue.
Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano said he instructed TEAM head Hyll Retuya to assign personnel to monitor the area.
“Ingon gyud ko ni Hyll nga pabutangi na dinha og personnel kay maluoy kaayo ko sa mga Clean and Green,” Ouano told reporters.
