Mandaue City awards college scholarship to 100 students

A total of 100 students have been awarded full-year scholarships under the Mandaue City government's education assistance program.

This, as the city government continued to expand and provide for the “less fortunate but deserving students” pursue higher education.
The scholarships were officially handed over to the beneficiaries for School Year 2025-2026 in a ceremony yesterday, May 28, at the Mandaue Session Hall.
The event marked the formal recognition of the city’s fourth batch of grantees under its scholarship initiative.
Outgoing Mandaue City Councilor Malcolm Sanchez, chairperson of the Committee on Education, led the ceremony and expressed his gratitude for the program's growth since its inception.
The number of recipients has steadily increased since the program’s early years, he said.

Each scholar will receive a total of P35,000 for the entire academic year — 17,500 per semester, which they can use to cover tuition and other education-related expenses.
