It might work or it might not

As opposed to the outright ban of online gambling, some sectors --citing the revenue it gives to the government as something that cannot be ignored-- are suggesting subjecting such operations to stricter regulations instead.

How? As an example, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick Go suggested raising the minimum bet to make it harder for the poor to gamble.

"For example lang, there's a minimum entry level of P1,000 and a minimum bet of P100. That way you don't have somebody coming in, a desperate person coming in with P100 and betting everything he has on one bet," Go said.
